Unlike ball valves, which create a 100% seal against backflow, check valves do not provide the same level of seal integrity. For applications involving biodiesel, the NBR seals of this check valve will need to be replaced with a more resistant seal material.

The stainless steel bodies and PTFE seals of these check valves provide high corrosion resistance, allowing them to be used with a wide variety of fluids, including but not limited to water, oil, gas, air, light alkali's, acids, biodiesel, fuels, and alcohols.
Vertical check valves can be used in any application. They utilize a spring system that shuts the disc closed when there is not enough pressure from the operating fluid to hold it open. Fluid pressure in the backwards direction will cause the valve to close, preventing backflow.
